Holy Cross Mock Trial Announces the Inaugural Dominick Tocci ’27 Memorial Invitational
This December, Holy Cross Mock Trial will welcome collegiate mock trial programs to Worcester for the inaugural Dominick Tocci ’27 Memorial Invitational, held December 5–6, 2026, at the College of the Holy Cross. The tournament will offer four rounds of competition over two days, but its purpose extends well beyond the courtroom. The Invitational is established in memory of Dominick “Dom” Tocci ’27, our friend and teammate who passed away in the spring of 2026.
Remembering Dom
Dom joined Holy Cross Mock Trial during his sophomore year and quickly became a staple of the team. As an attorney, he brought dedication and competitiveness to practices and tournaments, but those who knew him remember him just as much for everything that happened outside of rounds.
Dom had a kind spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and an ability to make just about anyone laugh. He was always ready with an obscure fact about one of his favorite sports teams and was a devoted fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. More importantly, he was the kind of teammate whose presence made practices, tournaments, long trips, and ordinary moments together more memorable.
His impact extended far beyond Mock Trial. Dom was a political science major and an active member of the Holy Cross community. During the fall of his junior year, he studied abroad in Ireland, where he had the opportunity to travel and explore Europe before returning to Holy Cross.
Dom's passing in the spring of 2026 was felt throughout the Holy Cross community, but particularly within the close-knit family that is Holy Cross Mock Trial. For our team, creating this tournament is one way to ensure that the friendships, laughter, and memories he gave us remain part of HCMT for years to come.
We hope to build an annual tradition that reflects the community Dom helped create: competitive, welcoming, spirited, and grounded in the friendships that make mock trial about much more than wins and losses.

The inaugural Invitational will take place on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2026, at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. The tournament will follow a traditional 2–2 format, with two rounds of competition on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Registration is $300 for a program's first team and $275 for each additional team. Teams that provide a judge available for all four rounds will receive an additional $25 discount per team. Registration will remain open through 10:00 p.m. on December 1, 2026.
